Since 2009, Ain Wazein Medical Village (AWMV) has been actively engaged in the early detection, screening, evaluation, and treatment of cancer. As part of its comprehensive medical services, AWMV operates a chemotherapy unit that delivers an average of 2,500 sessions annually, with a steady yearly increase of 7% to 10%.
Cancer care requires a multidisciplinary approach, as each type of cancer demands a tailored treatment plan that may include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these modalities. In addition, patients whose disease no longer responds to curative treatment deserve access to high-quality palliative care, provided in a dedicated, patient-friendly environment that respects their comfort, dignity, and rights.
At AWMV, we believe that every cancer patient deserves access to a center of excellence in oncology. This vision has driven the development of the Oncology Medical Center, designed to deliver comprehensive, integrated cancer care. The most commonly treated cancers at AWMV include breast, bladder, lung, and colorectal cancers—many of which have high survival rates when detected early.
The Oncology Medical Center, with a total built area of 3,295 m², is designed as a fully integrated, multidisciplinary facility. It will include:
In addition, thoughtfully designed gardens and green spaces will provide a healing environment for patients and their families, supporting both physical recovery and emotional well-being.
To provide comprehensive, patient-centered cancer care encompassing prevention, early detection, accurate diagnosis, advanced treatment, and palliative support. Through a multidisciplinary approach, we strive to improve patient outcomes and enhance quality of life at every stage of the cancer journey.
To be a leading center of excellence in oncology, recognized for outstanding patient care, innovative research, advanced education, and state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Hematology is a branch of internal medicine that deals with the physiology, pathology, etiology, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of blood-related disorders. The Hematology and Oncology Division aims to ensure adequate diagnosis, treatment, management, and follow up on cancer patients and improve their quality of life.
The clinical activity of the Chemotherapy Unit at AWMV includes:
AWMV’s highly qualified hematology and oncology team is committed to deliver the best treatment to the patient in a multidisciplinary work environment.

Ain Wazein Medical Village (AWMV) has opened since February 2019 the Radiotherapy Department to provide complete cancer care with an emphasis on administering carefully focused radiation that minimizes exposure to healthy tissue. AWMV has installed ELEKTA – VERSA HD Linear Accelerator intended to treat cancer tumors with intense radiation delivered quickly, precisely, and with extreme accuracy. High energy X-rays are tailored to the tumor to reduce its size and eliminate any cancer cells that may be present.
The Department of Radiation Oncology at AWMV also uses the most cutting-edge treatment planning (Monaco®) and information management software (MOSAIQ®) to provide an integrated network for quick, effective radiation planning and treatment that helps minimize long wait times and offers a secure radiation treatment to our patients. 3D-Conformal Radiation Therapy (3D-CRT), Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT), Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Respiration Gated radiation (using Active Breathing Coordinator “ABC”) therapies are among the most recent innovations in radiation oncology that are offered at AWMV.
We obtained the Monaco® software and the Monte Carlo calculation system to calculate the dosimetry for our patients, allowing us to give our treatment plan a very precise dosimetry. Our ability to contour the target with great precision is made possible by the contouring software’s ability to perform elastic fusion between various imaging modalities. The software can also perform a biological optimization to ensure that the prescribed radiation dose was correctly administered.
Elekta linear accelerators aims to increase access to high-precision, individualized treatments for more patients by combining integral precision with straightforward, effective processes.
Elekta linacs are more than just a piece of equipment; they are a complete treatment solution. The industry-leading radiation treatment planning and review software, extensive quality assurance tools, and wide range of servicing options will help you make the most of the linac.
At Ain Wazein Medical Village we aim to offer our cancer patients professional and individualized care.

Radiation therapy is a cornerstone of modern cancer treatment. It uses high-energy radiation generated by linear accelerators to target and destroy cancer cells, preventing their growth and multiplication while preserving surrounding healthy tissue as much as possible.
In response to growing public health needs, Ain Wazein Medical Village (AWMV) established a state-of-the-art Radiotherapy Unit as a key pillar of its Oncology Medical Center. Prior to its launch, patients in the region had to travel between 45 and 150 km to access radiotherapy services. AWMV ensures that this essential treatment is available closer to home, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and continuity of care in oncology.
The Radiotherapy Unit, welcomed its first patient on 25 February 2019. It is the first completed component of the Oncology Medical Center and plays a vital role in both curative and palliative cancer care, treating malignant tumors and alleviating symptoms caused by tumor compression.
Our multidisciplinary team, comprising radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, registered nurses, and support staff, works collaboratively to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. Beyond treatment, the team is dedicated to supporting patients’ physical and emotional well-being with compassion, clear communication, and continuous guidance throughout their journey.
The unit is equipped with advanced technologies, including the Elekta Versa HD™ linear accelerator, which delivers high-precision, high-dose radiation therapy with exceptional accuracy. This system enables the treatment of a wide range of cancers using sophisticated techniques while maintaining efficient treatment times.
To further enhance care quality, AWMV utilizes cutting-edge treatment planning and management systems, including Monaco® and MOSAIQ®. These platforms support precise dosimetry calculations, advanced imaging integration, and streamlined treatment workflows, ensuring safe, effective, and timely care.
The Radiotherapy Unit offers a full range of advanced treatment modalities, including:
These technologies allow for highly accurate tumor targeting, minimizing exposure to healthy tissues and improving patient outcomes.
