Overview

Ain Wazein Medical Village (AWMV) is a private, non-governmental, not-for-profit integrated academic medical compound that includes Ain Wazein Hospital, the Geriatric Medical Center, Homecare Center, Oncology Medical Center, and Nursing School. AWMV also manages the Primary Health Care Center in Beiteddine and Al Jabal Hospital in the Matn region, and hosts the Lebanese University, Faculty of Public Health – Branch VI on its campus. Through its comprehensive medical services, AWMV offers a continuum of care ranging from primary and secondary to intermediate and tertiary healthcare, in addition to palliative, long-term, and home care. Serving as a referral medical center for a catchment area exceeding 400,000 inhabitants, AWMV welcomes patients with diverse conditions and is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services without any social, racial, or religious discrimination.

Brief History

The Health Establishment of the Druze Community (HEDC) was founded in 1978 by his Eminence the late Sheikh Akl Druze, Sheikh Mohammad Abou Chacra.

The effort of his Eminence, the devotion of the Board of Trustees, the contribution of the Lebanese community and the support from some Arab and foreign countries have -all- contributed to the launching of the “Health Establishment of the Druze Community”.

    Consistently ranked as a Class “A” hospital since 2005.
  • Academic & Research Center– MoPH (Decree No. 423/1):
    Officially designated as an Academic and Research Center since 2010.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Certification:
    Maintaining continuous ISO 9001 Quality Management System certification since 2005; most recently recertified in December 2025 with zero non-conformities.
  • Arab Hospitals Federation – Gold Initiative Awards
    • Distinguished Hospital – Gold Initiative Award (2021):
      Awarded for excellence and exceptional efforts in managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Al-Jabal Hospital in Qornayel

The name of Al Jabal Hospital in Qornayel is associated with Ain Wazein Medical Village; The integrated academic medical complex, especially the hospital there. Al-Jabal Hospital – Qornayel was established in 1983 by the Kamal Jumblatt Social Foundation and with the support of all the people of the region. It is a not-for-profit hospital, which has the status of public benefit. In 2012, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Kamal Jumblatt Social Foundation in Matn and the Board of Trustees of the Druze Health Foundation to manage the Jabal Hospital by Ain Wazein Hospital, according to the proposed strategic plan for the coming years. The Board of Trustees of the Druze Health Institution plays an essential role in the accurate and transparent accompaniment of the hospital’s work. It works to secure the necessary financial resources to accelerate the implementation of the strategic plan, develop human cadres, and develop medical and technical support services, medical activity and human resources. “Al-Jabal Hospital” aims to provide the best medical and supportive medical services at the lowest cost, and to meet the needs of its patients and visitors in Al-Matn and the surrounding areas, which include 45 villages. And secure experienced nursing cadres.
